Sithar Peedam

Sithar peedam, dedicated to Sivakalini Amman, can be found in Sitanji village near Kanchipuram, a temple town along Chennai to Bangalore National Highway 4. The name “Sithanji” signifies the connection to Sivakalini Amman, the primary deity of this sacred site. Legend has it that the area was once inhabited by the malevolent demon Kamakasura, embodying all forms of evil.

About Guruji
Silence is the only way for inner peace; Victory comes by patience
At a very young age, Amma made it clear that his purpose in life was to be fully devoted to Bhadrakali Amman. However, his parents struggled to understand this divine purpose. When Swamigal turned 16 on December 11, 1997, Bhadrakali Amman appeared in his dream and instructed him to meditate for 48 days.
Following Bhadrakali Amman’s instructions, Swamigal found a suitable place for meditation in the graveyard of Munjurpet, his mother’s native village. Meditating in a graveyard was not an easy task for a young boy. Despite facing numerous obstacles during his meditation, Swamigal sincerely chanted the mantras without any interruptions. Unbeknownst to him, his mother had been hospitalized in Chennai during this period.
On the 48th day, at midnight, Swamigal successfully completed his meditation, and the divine light of Bhadrakali Amman appeared before him, blessing him with divine powers to serve mankind. He was also instructed to build a temple for Sivakalini Amman in Sithanji village. From that moment on, Amma became known as Thavayogi/Sitanji Amma/Mohananandha Swamigal. This transformation from a blessed child to an enlightened soul at such a young age was only possible through the blessings of the supreme god.
